Whitney Houston Packs on the Weight

Well Whitney's "Nothing But Love" tour in Europe has been riddled with all sorts of problems, but at least she continues on. Many have speculated her cancellations here and there were due to her supposed relapse and drug related issues. Her camp is claiming respiratory infection and doctors orders.

Well now the once svelte Whitney seems to be enjoying room service a little bit too much, ballooning up to 175lbs! Her camp claims its a side effect of steroid injections or prednisone treatments for her respiratory infection.

At another tour date hundreds walked out of her concert in Denmark midway through, complaining about her poor performance and faltering voice. One critic in attendance wrote, "She looked and sounded like a person who doesn't have many years left to live. At the end of the show she looked like she was ready to explode."

Guess that beats crack! Go Whitney stay strong and sober girl!

Who Pulled the Plug on Gary Coleman?

Holy shiznit! Whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis?

Sources have just uncovered court papers that prove Gary Coleman had divorced Shannon Price prior to his untimely death.

The documents state that they were legally divorced in August 2008, with Gary filing for a divorce from Shannon. According to the agreement, there was to be no alimony payments and all properties were awarded to Gary.

So, then, if this is true, did Shannon Price  have the legal right to decide to take Gary off life support? According to a hospital rep "We had no indication that the information Shannon gave us was false. She portrayed herself as his wife."

Wow! She had no legal right to do that... scary! Don't they ask for legal papers for something so permanent?

Chinese Chef Dies From Eel Stuffed Up His Butt

Doctors in Sichuan, China, found an eel up a 59-year-old man's rectum and the creature had eaten his bowels! The unnamed chef in China was passed out drunk and his friends played a prank on him which went horribly wrong.

WTF kind of sick "friends" are those?! What happened to the classic prank of just drawing dicks on the faces of passed out drinking buddies or posing them in precarious scenarios and taking photos? Crazy, crazy world today...

Hospital Visitation Rights To Same Sex Partners Granted

President Obama took a step toward equal rights on Thursday when he mandated that hospitals allow visitation to the partners of gay men and women, along with respecting patients' choices about who can make critical health-care decisions for them.

The new rules will affect any hospital that receives Medicare or Medicaid funding and will become active within months.

"Discrimination touches every facet of the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, including at times of crisis and illness, when we need our loved ones with us more than ever," said Joe Solmonese, president of the Human Rights Campaign.

And per usual, opponents of gay marriage are all up in arms about the whole thing! Their warped thinking truly believes that this decision is undermining the definition of marriage. With the current stats on marriage, which the trend is 40-50% ending in divorce, I don't see why this is an issue. Something that is so sacred seems to be taken lightly and casual to me!

But Obama issued the following elegant memo to the Department of Health and Human Services.

It read:

"Every day, all across America, patients are denied the kindnesses and caring of a loved one at their sides whether in a sudden medical emergency or a prolonged hospital stay.

Affected are "gay and lesbian Americans who are often barred from the bedsides of the partners with whom they may have spent decades of their lives — unable to be there for the person they love, and unable to act as a legal surrogate if their partner is incapacitated."

President Obama was inspired by the story of a lesbian couple in Florida, Janice Langbehn and Lisa Pond, who were not allowed to see each other when Pond collapsed of a cerebral aneurysm in February 2007 and died alone in the hospital hours later because of these outdated policies.

And the new mandate will not only apply to gays. Widows and widowers will now be able to receive visits from friends and companions. Small, but crucial steps for equality!

James Cameron on Glen Beck

"Glenn Beck is a fucking asshole. I've met him. He called me the anti-Christ and not about Avatar. He hadn't even seen Avatar yet. I don't know if he has http://witola.com/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=1957&message=6seen it. I think, you know what, he may or may not be an asshole, but he certainly is dangerous, and I'd love to have a dialogue with him. He's dangerous because his ideas are poisonous. I couldn't believe when he was on CNN. I thought, what happened to CNN? Who is this guy? Who is this madman? And then of course he wound up on Fox News, which is where he belongs, I guess.

They're not attacks. They're just people ranting away, lost in their little bubbles of reality, steeped in their own hatred, their own fear and hatred. That's where it all comes from. Let's just call it out. Let's have a public discussion. That's what movies are supposed to do, you know, you can have a mindless entertainment film that doesn't affect anybody. I wasn't interested in that. That's right, I want to call those deniers out into the street at high noon and shoot it out with those boneheads. Anybody that is a global-warming denier at this point in time has got their head so deeply up their ass I'm not sure they could hear me.

Look, at this point I'm less interested in making money for the movie and more interested in saving the world that my children are going to inhabit. How about that? I mean look, I didn't make this movie with these strong environmental anti-war themes in it to make friends on the right, you know. They're not on my Christmas card list. It's not going to change my lifestyle at all if they don't talk to me. But you know they've got to live in this world too. And their children do as well, so they're going to have to be answerable to this at some point."

Michael Moore’s Open Letter re: Health Care Being Passed

To My Fellow Citizens, the Republicans:

Thanks to last night's vote, that child of yours who has had asthma since birth will now be covered after suffering for her first nine years as an American child with a pre-existing condition.

Thanks to last night's vote, that 23-year-old of yours who will be hit one day by a drunk driver and spend six months recovering in the hospital will now not go bankrupt because you will be able to keep him on your insurance policy.

Thanks to last night's vote, after your cancer returns for the third time — racking up another $200,000 in costs to keep you alive — your insurance company will have to commit a criminal act if they even think of dropping you from their rolls.

Yes, my Republican friends, even though you have opposed this health care bill, we've made sure it is going to cover you, too, in your time of need. I know you're upset right now. I know you probably think that if you did get wiped out by an illness, or thrown out of your home because of a medical bankruptcy, that you would somehow pull yourself up by your bootstraps and survive. I know that's a comforting story to tell yourself, and if John Wayne were still alive I'm sure he could make that into a movie for you.

But the reality is that these health insurance companies have only one mission: To take as much money from you as they can — and then work like demons to deny you whatever coverage and help they can should you get sick.

So, when you find yourself suddenly broadsided by a life-threatening illness someday, perhaps you'll thank those pinko-socialist, Canadian-loving Democrats and independents for what they did Sunday evening.

If it's any consolation, the thieves who run the health insurance companies will still get to deny coverage to adults with pre-existing conditions for the next four years. They'll also get to cap an individual's annual health care reimbursements for the next four years. And if they break the pre-existing ban that was passed last night, they'll only be fined $100 a day! And, the best part? The law will require all citizens who aren't poor or old to write a check to a private insurance company. It's truly a banner day for these corporations.

So don't feel too bad. We're a long way from universal health care. Over 15 million Americans will still be uncovered — and that means about 15,000 will still lose their lives each year because they won't be able to afford to see a doctor or get an operation. But another 30,000 will live. I hope that's ok with you.

If you don't mind, we're now going to get busy trying to improve upon this bill so that all Americans are covered and so the grubby health insurance companies will be put out of business — because when it comes to helping the sick, no one should ever be allowed to ask the question, "How much money can we save by making this poor bastard suffer?"

Please, my Republican friends, if you can, take a quiet moment away from your AM radio and cable news network this morning and be happy for your country. We're doing better. And we're doing it for you, too.

Yours,
Michael Moore

P.S. I'll have more to say on this tonight, live on CNN, at 9pm ET. I'll be talking with Larry King about the health care bill and where we go from here, considering we still don't have universal health care.

P.P.S. In case you missed these photos in yesterday's NY Times Sunday Magazine… That's the results of seven years of madness. The Iraq War began its 8th year this weekend. How can we remove more of those responsible for this tragedy in November.

Health Care Reform: What Does It Mean?

Outside of DC, however, many Americans are trying to cut through the chatter and get to the substance of reform with a simple question: "What does health insurance reform actually mean for me?" To help, we've put together some of the key benefits from health insurance reform.

Let's start with how health insurance reform will expand and strengthen coverage:

  • This year, children with pre-existing conditions can no longer be denied health insurance coverage. Once the new health insurance exchanges begin in the coming years, pre-existing condition discrimination will become a thing of the past for everyone.
  • This year, health care plans will allow young people to remain on their parents' insurance policy up until their 26th birthday.
  • This year, insurance companies will be banned from dropping people from coverage when they get sick, and they will be banned from implementing lifetime caps on coverage. This year, restrictive annual limits on coverage will be banned for certain plans. Under health insurance reform, Americans will be ensured access to the care they need.
  • This year, adults who are uninsured because of pre-existing conditions will have access to affordable insurance through a temporary subsidized high-risk pool.
  • In the next fiscal year, the bill increases funding for community health centers, so they can treat nearly double the number of patients over the next five years.
  • This year, we'll also establish an independent commission to advise on how best to build the health care workforce and increase the number of nurses, doctors and other professionals to meet our country's needs.  Going forward, we will provide $1.5 billion in funding to support the next generation of doctors, nurses and other primary care practitioners -- on top of a $500 million investment from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. King Tut’s Lineage Revealed

In a recent use of modern technology, new results for the famed Boy King reveal interesting results.

Scientists have identified Akhenaten, the "heretic" king who introduced monotheism to ancient Egypt, as Tutankhamun's father.

Akhenaten first married Nefertiti, who was renowned for her great beauty, but had no sons so he then married his sister in an effort to have a son.

This new investigation was led by Egyptologist Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities. Hawass said it would take several months to reveal more details about the identity of the Tutankhamun's mother.  His parents had been siblings and he had only paternal grandparents. His family lineage begins with his great grandparents, Thuya and Yuya. They had a daughter who has now been identified as Queen Tiye, King Tut's grandmother and the wife of Amenhotep III.

King Tutankhamun, it appears, was a frail boy who suffered from a cleft palate and club foot. He died of complications from a broken leg exacerbated by malaria. CT scans of his feet showed he had a slight deformity and a severe bone condition called Kohler Disease. "We have a club foot on one side and a flat foot on another side," Dr. Pusch said, who assisted in the investigation. "And the club foot is the foot that shows indication of bone necrosis." Bone necrosis occurs when biological tissue dies inside a body. King Tut would have been living with this painful condition for years, which would explain the 130 walking sticks found in his tomb.

In 2005, researchers studying CT scans of King Tut announced they had found a fresh fracture in his left leg and no evidence suggesting he had been hit in the head, as was once believed, but foul play wasn't ruled out as a cause of death - until now.

Scientists are also looking for the mummy of queen Nefertiti but they have identified Ankhsenamun as Tutankhamun's wife. Two fetuses found in Tutankhamun's tomb, which was full of treasure, were identified as his offspring.
