Steven Tyler Speaks

The man I call an inspiration for my own recovery as well and my idea of the supreme rock star, Steven Tyler talked recently about addiction, the band and the future:

"Being in Aerosmith is like living on the tail of a comet. I've had a lot of injuries over the last couple of the years. I had ACL reconstruction on my knee … operations on my feet, my mom passed away. A lot of things came to play that made it easy for me to abuse some things. … Even though some of the people in the band were going public with some of the stuff which turned very ugly, I managed to pull it all back together again and say, "Look, let's just get out there and be the band that we know we are and not argue about this crap anymore."

I'm doing a book called "Does the Noise in My Head Bother You," and I will be speaking about what it's like to be married to four other guys, and what I've had to put up with. … There will never be another band like Aerosmith, and I just don't want to do anything to hurt that. I love the band so much.

The truth is I've never stopped writing. I've got 12 songs I'm sitting on right now for a solo record. Aerosmith has to finish a studio album; we're gonna do that first.

I realize that the best part of me is who I am sober so that's all there is to it. … I don't know whether I will use tomorrow, but today I'm happy. … There's a 500-pound gorilla on my back, waiting in the parking lot for me that wants to take me down, and I won't for any reason go out there and deal with that. I have to get a knee replacement, I have to have another operation on my feet, and I'll let a nurse take care of my stuff. I just can't be around that stuff anymore. I need to be a power of example for my bandmates, don't I? (laughs)… I'm still in Aerosmith so the circus is still in town. So when it comes to dealing with the band, I take it a day at a time with these guys."

Also, from the looks of this video, the boys from Boston are still rocking on their new World Tour! Aerosmith fans are awesome, look at how many are there and it is pouring down rain. Hehe, wish I was there...

P!NK Rolls Over Europe This Summer!

P!nk is just an amazing, bad ass, in your face rockin' chick. Her lyrics are passionate, heartfelt, experiential, raw, explosive.... I can just go on and on about her. The best work yet to hit the airwaves is her most recent album, "Funhouse" and it chronicles her turbulent relationship with her husband, Cary Hart, professional motocross racer.

Her promo for the summer tour follows the video below of her singing "Glitter in the Air"
Her acrobatic performance at the Grammy Awards while singing COMPLETELY live stunned everyone. And to think she did that every night on tour here in the states. Wish I caught the show!

Here is a glimpse of her Summer European Tour... wish I could go there, too!

Whitney Houston Packs on the Weight

Well Whitney's "Nothing But Love" tour in Europe has been riddled with all sorts of problems, but at least she continues on. Many have speculated her cancellations here and there were due to her supposed relapse and drug related issues. Her camp is claiming respiratory infection and doctors orders.

Well now the once svelte Whitney seems to be enjoying room service a little bit too much, ballooning up to 175lbs! Her camp claims its a side effect of steroid injections or prednisone treatments for her respiratory infection.

At another tour date hundreds walked out of her concert in Denmark midway through, complaining about her poor performance and faltering voice. One critic in attendance wrote, "She looked and sounded like a person who doesn't have many years left to live. At the end of the show she looked like she was ready to explode."

Guess that beats crack! Go Whitney stay strong and sober girl!

Whitney Back on Crack?

Please say this not so! She has had such a well publicized comeback, it would truly be heartbreaking if she relapsed. But it does happen...

Sade Interview: Addressing Demons

Her new album, Soldier of Love, has been on repeat in my office for weeks since it has come out. Soothing, and like one of her lyrics from the last album, Lovers Rock,  it is like "a soup to warm your soul."

''If you're only making an album every 10 years, it better be good,'' Sade says.

Sade on Letterman

Sade has been on a media blitz since the release of her latest album Soldier of Love on February 9th. Here is the Grammy award winning artist singing on David Letterman.

She is one of my all time favorites. Sexy, sultry and a voice that just captivates you. Her last album was almost ten years ago and about the same time for the previous. She has always marched to her own beat and avoids the limelight. Her fans, as I do, are so happy she is back, like she never missed a beat.

Michael Jackson’s doctor charged with manslaughter

Michael Jackson's former doctor has been charged with involuntary manslaughter by prosecutors in Los Angeles today. Dr Conrad Murray is expected to deny the charges in court. He faces up to four years in prison if convicted.

The King of Pop died at his home last June at the age of 50, his death was ruled as homicide, mainly caused by the anesthetic Propofol. A cocktail of drugs - including sedatives Midazolam and Diazepam, the painkiller Lidocaine and the stimulant Ephedrine - were also detected in his body, a coroner confirmed.

The statement came after several days of negotiations, where Dr Murray's lawyers tried to arrange for him to surrender to prosecutors in an attempt to avoid him being handcuffed and arrested.

Speaking before the charges were filed, the physician's defense lawyer, Ed Chernoff, said the doctor was prepared for the legal battle ahead. "We'll make bail, we'll plead not guilty and we'll fight like hell," he said.

Originally from Grenada, Dr Murray moved to the US and trained as a doctor. In 2000, he opened his own practice in Las Vegas, expanding with a second clinic in Houston in 2006. However, he encountered financial difficulties and reports suggest he filed for bankruptcy in 2002 while living in California.

Jackson hired Murray on a salary of more than $150,000 a month in May 2009. Yes, you read that right, it's not a typo -  $150,000 a MONTH. Money can and does buy you whatever and/or whomever you want! Unfortunately for Michael, he didn't get the best for his money.
