Sarah Palin’s Tonight Show Interview Was Edited To Make Her Look Better?

To deliberately attempt to manipulate viewer's opinions through laugh tracks is as pathetic as she is.

Check out a part 1 of 2 videos from NBC.com:

Writer and activist Micheal Stinson, who apparently hates Sarah Palin more than we do, flew to El Lay with his wife to be in the audience during the newly re-Leno'd Tonight Show, which featured the Alaskan trainwreck as a guest on its second night.

Now Stinson has come forward with some SHOCKING allegations against NBC and the talk show, claiming they manipulated Sexy Sarah's interview by dubbing laugh tracks over to make her appear funny and well-received, when apparently she got nothing but awkward silence her ENTIRE segment.

You can read the full article here, but it's a little lengthy, so here are some highlights:

But when Jay brought out Sarah Palin, she was completely nerved. Watch the video, check out her breathing, she's freaked and talks a mile a minute. Both my wife and I agreed - when you actually get close enough, she's just plain creepy, and those yech vibes filled the room.

And while NBC Sold Palin, she sold her body, jiggling, teasing, pushing the cutesy-pie, what we used to call in the military, a "prick tease." She short circuits brains, deflects the fact that most of what she says is nonsense or hateful, as lizard layers of right wing men's brains hum a sexual fantasy tune, and women who have thrown all sense of propriety to the wind, watching her strip, want to be just like her. Rich. Stupid. The sweet "Bite Me" bitch attitude she's honed to an art form. No, she doesn't just "wink" - she uses her whole body to sell the package. Turn off the sound, just watch her body language. I find it whorish, repulsive, and I'm no prude.

They added laughter where there was none during uncomfortable portions. Well, there was some laughter. Mine, of derision. During those pregnant pauses in her performance I was laughing long and loud, couldn't help myself as much of what she was saying was utterly surreal, ridiculous, hypocritical - nonsense, spewed platitudes, pushed buttons. I was seriously thinking of leaving as it was getting hysterically unfunny.

After sitting through the taping of the show in the studio I can recount many portions where there was little or no laughter or response, but at the later broadcast they are smoothed over with applause and laughter that WERE NOT THERE at the taping. Groans, hoots, grumbling, or just dead silence - all missing.

They should bear some responsibility for hawking a defective product. This is corporate shilling in the worst way, not only to raise Leno's ratings, but to push Palin on a crowd with fake laughter and applause. The applause sign is one thing, an American institution. But INSERTING Laughter for Sarah Palin? Try to realize that while you may be laughing at the things she says, because she's a train wreck, the corporate powers that be are ADJUSTING the laughter so it appears APPROPRIATE. I worked in a mental institution. The very basic definition of insanity is "inappropriate laughter" WHO decides what's "appropriate?" Apparently, corporations. Not you. The Tonight Show is a lie, more than ever a corporate shill that's performing a cultural engineering service. Selling garbage, that is literally ruinous to our nation and women's rights.

Americans for Financial Reform!

Great satire from Funny or Die, with a message we should all act on. Funny or Die have teamed up with Americans for Financial Reform to urge Congress to act on financial reform and get that shit passed ASAP!

I love all the old Presidents coming back to haunt the Obamas while in the bedroom one night. They brought in starring Will Ferrell, Fred Armisen, Darrell Hammond, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Dana Carvey, In Living Color alum Jim Carrey and Maya Rudolph, directed by Ron Howard.

President Mubarak – Egypt to quash Islamic militant groups

Egypt's president said on Sunday his security forces would quash Islamist groups threatening stability in Egypt and the region, highlighting worries about al Qaeda building up strength in places such as Yemen.

President Hosni Mubarak also defended building a barrier on the Gaza border, saying it would stop militants crossing. See the post we did here. The move has drawn criticism from inside Egypt and other Arabs who say Cairo is colluding with Israel to blockade the Palestinians.

Prop 8 Advocate a Possible California Govenor? – Hell no!

Yes on Prop. 8 supporter Meg Whitman just wrote a $20 million check to her campaign to become the next Governor of California and has said she will spend more than $100 million of her own money to buy herself the job. You read that right — $100 million! Meg got her money from her start up, you might have heard of it - Ebay.

But unlike our current Republican governor who has refused to defend Prop. 8 in federal court and who has signed dozens of LGBT rights bills, Whitman has advocated for eliminating our right to marry. If elected, she would likely defend Prop. 8 in court with taxpayer dollars — not to mention what she could do with the stroke of a pen to pro-LGBT bills that pass the legislature.

While we can't match her dollar for dollar, we can fight her anti-equality efforts on the ground. But we can't do it without your support.

Help EQCA’s PAC fight Meg Whitman and other candidates who supported Prop. 8 and oppose LGBT equality. Make a donation today.

A Politically Correct Holiday… Bah Humbug!

capitol_christmas_tree_1995_2A friend sent this to me and I found myself laughing out loud at the ridiculousness of political correctness over the holidays. Kinda takes the fun out of just having a nice time with good intentions.

RE:        Gala Christmas Party

I'm happy to inform you that the company Christmas Party will take place on December 23rd, starting at noon in the private function room at the Grill House. There will be a cash bar and plenty of drinks!  We'll have a small band playing traditional carols...feel free to sing along.  And don't be surprised if our CEO shows up dressed as Santa Claus! A Christmas tree will be lit at 1:00 PM.  Exchanges of gifts among employees can be done at that time; however, no gift should be over $10.00 to make the giving of gifts easy for everyone's pockets.  This gathering is only for employees!
Our CEO will make a special announcement at that time!
Merry Christmas to you and your family,
Patty

RE:         Gala Holiday Party
In no way was yesterday's memo intended to exclude our Jewish employees.  We recognize that Hanukkah is an important holiday, which often coincides with Christmas, though unfortunately not this year.  However, from now on, we're calling it our "Holiday Party."  The same policy applies to any other employees who are not Christians and to those still celebrating Reconciliation Day.  There will be no Christmas tree and no Christmas carols will be sung.  We will have other types of music for your enjoyment.
Happy now?
Happy Holidays to you and your family,
Patty

RE:        Holiday Party

Regarding the note I received from a member of Alcoholics Anonymous requesting a non-drinking table, you didn't sign your name..  I'm happy to accommodate this request, but if I put a sign on a table that reads, "AA Only", you wouldn't be anonymous anymore.  How am I supposed to handle this?  Somebody?
And sorry, but forget about the gift exchange, no gifts are allowed since the union members feel that $10.00 is too much money and the executives believe $10.00 is a little chintzy.

REMEMBER: NO GIFTS EXCHANGE WILL BE ALLOWED.

RE:        Generic Holiday Party
What a diverse group we are!  I had no idea that December 20th begins the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which forbids eating and drinking during daylight hours. There goes the party!  Seriously, we can appreciate how a luncheon at this time of year does not accommodate our Muslim employees' beliefs.  Perhaps the Grill House can hold off on serving your meal until the end of the party or else package everything for you to take it home in little foil doggy baggy.  Will that work?
Meanwhile, I've arranged for members of Weight Watchers to sit farthest from the dessert buffet, and pregnant women will get the table closest to the restrooms.
Gays are allowed to sit with each other.

Lesbians do not have to sit with Gay men; each group will have their own table.
Yes, there will be flower arrangement for the Gay men's table.
To the person asking permission to cross dress, the Grill House asks that no cross-dressing be allowed, apparently because of concerns about confusion in the restrooms. Sorry.
We will have booster seats for short people. Low-fat food will be available for those on a diet.
I am sorry to report that we cannot control the amount of salt used in the food.  The Grill House suggests that people with high blood pressure taste a bite first. There will be fresh "low sugar" fruits as dessert for diabetics, but the restaurant cannot supply "no sugar" desserts. Sorry!

Did I miss anything?!?!?

RE:        The F*%^ing Holiday Party
I've had it with you vegetarian pricks!!!  We're going to keep this party at the Grill House whether you like it or not, so you can sit quietly at the table furthest from the "grill of death," as you so quaintly put it, and you'll get your f*%^ing salad bar, including organic tomatoes.  But you know, tomatoes have feelings, too.  They scream when you slice them.  I've heard them scream.  I'm hearing them scream right NOW!
The rest of you f*%^ing wierdos can kiss my *ss.  I hope you all have a rotten holiday! Drive drunk and die,

The B*tch from H*ll!!!

RE:       Patty Lewis and Holiday Party
I'm sure I speak for all of us in wishing Patty Lewis a speedy recovery and I'll continue to forward your cards to her.
In the meantime, management has decided to cancel our Holiday Party and give everyone the afternoon of the 23rd off with full pay.
Happy Holidays!

Egypt Builds Steel Wall Along Gaza Border

gaza_tunnels_540Egypt has begun constructing a huge metal wall along its border with the Gaza Strip as it attempts to cut smuggling tunnels. When it is finished the wall will be 6-7 miles long and will extend 54 feet below the surface.

In researching a little more on this subject I found out some interesting facts, pictures and background.

These tunnels are not like the ancient ones that were used to hide royal treasure from tomb robbers in the Valley of the Kings. These are for smuggling goods and weapons due to border closings, embargos -  and defense or offense (however you look at it).

illustration of rafah tunnels
gaza_tunnel_cowCalves at one tunnel cost $600 each: $350 for the animal and $250 for the passage. Such smuggling is lucrative for smugglers and Hamas, which began collecting a $2,500 yearly license fee from tunnel owners.
They also say Hamas has begun to collect high taxes on cigarettes – a box of 500 cigarette packs that can be bought in Egypt for $700 sells for $2,000 in Gaza – in order to take control of that trade themselves.
Gaza-sheep-smugglingSmugglers demand $300 per rifle, which can be sold for up to $2,000 in Gaza. For every bullet, they get $1, a quarter of the Gaza market price. People can also use the tunnels to escape vendettas or police attention for $6,000.

eng_gaza_GB_BM_Baye_743160gThe Egyptians are being helped by American army engineers, who have designed the wall. Shrouded in secrecy, with no comment or confirmation from the Egyptian government, the wall should take 18 months to complete.

For weeks local farmers have noticed more activity at the border where trees were being cut down, but very few of them were aware that a barrier was being built. That is because the barrier, made of super-strength steel, has been hidden deep underground. It was manufactured in the good old USA and it fits together similarly like a jigsaw puzzle. It has been tested to ensure it is bomb proof, cannot be cut or melted - in short it is impenetrable.

The President’s Plan… listen to the FACTS!

I suffer no illusions that this will be an easy process. It will be hard. But I also know that nearly a century after Teddy Roosevelt first called for reform, the cost of our health care has weighed down our economy and the conscience of our nation long enough. So let there be no doubt: health care reform cannot wait, it must not wait, and it will not wait another year."

Tell Obama and Holder: Stop defending DOMA.

gay_wedding_cakeDear Friends,

They compared same-sex marriage to a marriage between an uncle and a niece. Or between two children. No, we're not talking about Rick Santorum. We're talking about the Obama administration's Justice Department. The brief the DOJ presented defending the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in federal court was not just wrong. It was offensive. The New York Times called it "disturbing" in its lead editorial.

Back in the days of the 2008 campaign, Senator Obama promised he would work to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act. But now that a gay couple in California is challenging DOMA in federal court, President Obama has chosen to take action to defend a law that prevents legally married same-sex couples from receiving any federal benefits, or from having their marriages recognized in other states.

I just signed a petition to tell President Obama and Attorney General Holder to withdraw this offensive brief and apologize for its contents. (The website also has a great video of Rachel Maddow and Howard Dean discussing the importance of this issue!) Please have a look and take action.
