Holy H2O
Looking through my home office window across the street I noticed that there was more than a little bit of water running down the block. Not just the average overwatered lawn, but a torrent, a mild rapids if I may, that could easily take a small animal with it.
I decided to investigate and grabbed my trusty iPhone for posting sake figuring it would turn into a post!
As I walked across the street my eyes followed the stream north and up the street to find its origin. As I looked at the corner, the cars were lined up, school buses splashed through the water and all I could hear was the swoosh and splash as cars took turns going through the intersection on their way to school, work and wherever.
Then I looked upward and saw this! Look at the top of the house and you will see the water plume. I soon took off down the block after locking my front door to investigate.
Coming up to the corner of Mt. Ararat and Mt. Acadia I saw a police officer parked and then a Water Department worker pulled up and blocked the street. I stood and quickly took these photos to share the experience.
It's interesting working from home, when you leave for the day as I did for years, you just never know what happens in the neighborhood when you leave for the day.
I sure hope that it has not drained into anyone's home. I remember coming home from SDSU one day to see water coming out the bottom of the front door and into the driveway. Shock and fear gripped me as I opened the door to hear my dog Tyler splash down the hall shaking. The insurance, clean up, and renovation are next and never what you expected. Our insurance dropped us as we were now "too high of a risk" and we decided to remodel and made the lemon into lemonade with a 500 square foot addition. Time consuming, but it's our home and we love it. Thanks Dave for all your hard work!
Here's a picture of the room addition. You can see more of these and the entire remodel at Dave's company website: www.Stevens-Enterprises.com
