Will Miss California be stripped of her crown?

Keith Lewis, one of the state directors for the Miss California USA Organization revealed the hard decision the people at the MCO have been plagued with this week.

Now, should they or shouldn't they remove Carrie Prejean's crown? Her "I hope I don't offend anyone" answer gave me the clear understanding that I and countless others are second class citizens here in the good old USA.

I was shocked that Prop 8 passed and in California, but things are changing. I feel that would never have passed with the help of the Mormon and Catholic church funding for all the hate advertising. Good moral values my ass. They are not practicing what they preach... Love thy neighbor!

Carrie Prejean's response to a question by panel judge Perez Hilton caused quite the stir two weeks ago and made the talk show rounds and newscasts. She stated her answer as a personal belief and not as a representative of all Californians, which she is supposed to be? Remember that Carrie?

Keith Lewis said, "We are really faced with a dilemma over whether to exercise the contract and remove her crown, because it would in fact only escalate her standing within the very issue that we are trying to minimize and only escalate her standing with those individuals who have stolen her title.

We want to make sure that our legacy is one that we are proud of. I do admire her courage for standing up for her beliefs and yet at the same time, I'm very much aware of the role of Miss California and what we are trying to do with the woman who is crowned and represents the state of California."

I guess time will tell and she can go on to be a spokesmouth for the right wing who have embraced her as a good Christian who sticks to her beliefs, even if it cost her the Miss USA crown.
